Normally, people who practice meditation for the first time find themselves in a situation where sitting in silence and doing nothing is not an easy thing to do. Due to this fact, many people give up the idea of meditation in the middle. To a first-timer, the concept of meditation might initially feel a little alien, perhaps even daunting too, but that’s OKAY. According to some data reports, people have been practicing the technique of meditation for around 3,000 years. Undoubtedly many people have experienced the same reluctance, bewilderment, or wonder that first-time meditators often feel.
If you do that feel, still, you do not have to GIVE UP the idea of meditation because everyone who practices meditation for the first time also feels the same.
Can you believe many successful people, such as Jeff Weiner, Katty Perry, Marc Benioff, Arianna Huffington, and more, practice meditation daily?YES, it is. It is one of the things behind their success.
Do you want a successful, healthy lifestyle? Do you want to enjoy every moment of life? In this case, you definitely have to add meditation to your life goals list. You do not have to worry!! I am here to guide you through your journey toward meditation with my meditation for beginner guide.
Meditation For Beginner Tips Need To Follow
The concept of meditation can be difficult, especially for beginners. It is well known for offering immense mental and physical health benefits. Due to this fact, sitting still and doing nothing is not a cup of tea for everyone. Meditation makes you more confident and productive, reduces stress and anxiety. In addition to that, meditation makes you a better person. The kind of person you dream of becoming.
Here are a few tips for beginners who are willing to practice meditation:-
You’re Practicing It “Right.”
If you are a newbie in the concept of meditation, you might find yourself worrying that you’re doing it “wrong.” However, as revered Zen monk and teacher Shunryu Suzuki explains in Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind, when you take your posture (sit down to meditate), you are meditating:
There is no need to get disappointed if you don’t instantly feel a deep sensation of peace and well-being whenever you sit for meditation. As time passes, you’ll become aware that just sitting is all there is to meditate. Important: There is no need to force yourself to change anything in yourself; meditation does that automatically.
Best To Choose A Meditation That Work For You
Do you know there is actually more than one form of meditation? And everyone is different from others in terms of benefits. There are many different kinds of meditative practices. Breath-counting meditation is the simplest beginner-friendly form of meditation because you can do it anywhere and at any time.
Here’s how it has been done. You have to sit or lie down with a straight spine, and then you have to focus on your breathing, keep in mind, don’t try to change your breathing. It is so simple that anyone can do it with ease. When you inhale the air, you have to say silently to yourself: “… and”. Then as you exhale the air from noise, count: “… one.”
You have to keep breathing and counting as you inhale and exhale the air. “And… one; and… two; and… three; and… four.”
When you touch the count “four,” start at “one” again with the next exhalation. It is so FUN you can’t imagine.
The numbers are arbitrary. There is no limit to count — if you like — you can go up to ten. However, you will be amazed to know how much your mind wanders. Your mind will wander when you count from one to four too, but you’re less likely to suffer frustration. You have to give your mind permission for wandering. That’s what it actually does. At the time you realize that you’ve lost the count, just restart your count from 1. It is a simple and effective form of meditation for the beginner.
Practice Meditation At The Same Time Everyday
You will start feeling the health benefits of meditation immediately from the day you start practicing. When I meditate, I find myself more relaxed, mentally and physically, and much more productive. I sleep like a little kid and wake up like a birth with bright and alert, ready to face the new day. I often practice meditation for 5 to 10 minutes every day to calm my mind, improve awareness, and boost productivity.
There is a high chance for you to notice relationships benefits from meditation: you’ll be much happier, and irritability from stress will be in the past. If you want to have those benefits in life you have to practice meditation daily. CAN YOU DO IT?? Due to the fact that it is not easy, you have to set fix time for meditation practice. Go for a time you’ll be alone and without distractions. Play calm music if you wish.
If you want, you can use some meditation apps for beginners that help you. I use the Insight timer on my device.
Meditate On Your Own Phase
A few meditators meditate for an hour, thrice a day. Others meditate for 30 or more minutes, twice a day. I meditate for 5 to 10 minutes, once a day. The time you spend in meditation is overall beneficial, no matter how long/short it is. So, if you’ve only got two to five minutes, that’s fine.
Straight Spine Make Meditation Easier
The thing that is important in meditation posture. Whether you choose to lie or sit down for meditation, straightening your spine is better for your health. The Shunryu Suzuki said, taking your posture with a straight spine, you’re meditating.
As time passes, both your mind and body will relax into a meditative state as soon as you take your posture. It becomes a daily habit.
Meditation Help You With Self Awarness
One of my close friends told me he “feels so frustrated” when he meditates. It is all because he’s now aware of his underlying feelings, which were always there inside of himself.
Well, if you’re practicing a breath counting meditation, and you’re overwhelmed with emotions, start focusing on the feeling of the emotion in your body without getting caught up in any stories/thoughts attached to the emotion. Accept what you’re feeling in that moment, and become curious about the sensation of the emotion flowing in your body.
You will Start Noticing Benefits If You Practice Meditation Daily
Beginner meditators are excited when they find that meditation “works” for them. If you do not believe it, just give it a try. They want to practice meditation for the betterment of themselves, to get faster results.
The only proven way to get a faster result from meditation is to meditate daily. Meditation is a process.
You, Will, Have To Get physical: Yoga’s Meditative
As your meditation develops into daily practice, you’ll find that you automatically eat more healthily. Even if you’ve stopped exercising much, you’ll notice yourself looking for ways to move and stretch your body.
You have to consider yoga: It is a kind of meditation too. Yoga teaches you to stay in the moment without losing focus.
You have To Choose Right Music For Meditation
A few mediators enjoy music while they practice meditation; others prefer pin drop silence. If you’ve had a busy, stressful day, meditating with music can help to calm your mind and relax.
Other than that, treat your music as meditation. You’ll notice lots of links to music for meditation online and offline. I like to listen to OM as a meditation.
